With six months to go until my 3rd marathon at the 2016 Chevron Houston Marathon, I thought it would be fun to look back at the last time I was six months away from running Houston. It was July 2013, and I was a much different runner.

Looking back at my training logs, I didn’t run a step in 2013 until April. I had no consistency and no motivation until the bombs went off in Boston. Now, my training is a huge part of my life and if I’m not running,working, or sleeping, I’m cross training, stretching, or doing strength work.
I managed to pull off a 2:55:59 at that first Chevron Houston Marathon. I’m excited to see how I’ll do in the next one.
