Skechers Performance GOtrail

I’ve spent quite a bit of time lately talking up the new Skechers GOtrail, so let’s dive into some specifics about why I love this shoe. I’ve put about 100 trail miles in the GOtrail, and I’m truly convinced that it’s one of the finest models that Skechers Performance has released so far. Continue reading Skechers Performance GOtrail

New Focus: Statesman Capitol 10,000

It’s hard to admit when you’re wrong. You set out determined to prove all the doubters wrong. You convince yourself that their advice is overstated and you’ll have no problem overcoming the challenges ahead. But occasionally, something will happen and you’ll have spare time sitting on the couch to think about what went wrong. As it turns out, sometimes they’re right. 6 Months Out: Then and Now

With six months to go until my 3rd marathon at the 2016 Chevron Houston Marathon, I thought it would be fun to look back at the last time I was six months away from running Houston. It was July 2013, and I was a much different runner.

So often, I see these thanks being expressed after a positive race result, but I’m thankful regardless of what happens on the course next week. Continue reading 1 Week to Boston!

3 Weeks to Boston!

This post is the sixth in a series of weekly training updates leading up to the 2015 Boston Marathon on April 20, 2015.

Three. Count them. Three weeks to the Boston Marathon. Now we unofficially start the taper through to the homestretch. I’ll still be shooting for full volume this week, but most of our high intensity workouts are done, stowed away and ready to be unlocked on race day.  Continue reading 3 Weeks to Boston!

Skechers GOrun Strada Review

In the running shoe industry, it’s not very often that you see something completely new. Sure, there have been countless updates and tweaks to different shoes (read: Mizuno Wave Rider) to improve them based on the latest technologies and research, but when was the last time you saw a company from outside of the running industry enter, collect countless amounts of feedback and data points, and then mature its product line to a legitimate power? For most people, that answer is almost certainly “never.” That is what Skechers has done with their Performance Division, and the GOrun Strada is an extension of that maturity.  Continue reading Skechers GOrun Strada Review
